Two new 3D cities added to Google Earth

Google has just released two new 3D cities into Google Earth — Dublin, Ireland and Cardiff, Wales.
Make sure your “3D Buildings” layer is turned on inside of Google Earth, then fly over and check them out.  Below is a short video showing them off.  They look great!

New StreetView and 3D cities released

It’s been a busy day for Google.  Earlier in the day they unveiled Helsinki, Finland in 3D, and the coverage is quite comprehensive.  Google Earth Blog has the details.

Big update to Google Earth coming in 8 days?

According to a few sources, Google is releasing a new version of Google Earth at the California Academy of Sciences on February 2nd.  Because the location of the event happens to be an aquarium, planetarium and natural history museum, that’s leading many to think that we may finally see the long-rumored “Google Ocean”.

A few new 3D cities in Google Earth

As reported by the Google Earth Blog, there are a few new 3D cities in Google Earth — Pittsburgh, PA and Seattle, WA.  There may be others, but those are the two that have been found so far.

Just a few weeks after they added a bunch of new 3D cities to Google Earth, there appear to be a few more.  As of right now, according to the Google Earth Blog, the new cities are Los Angeles and San Diego.  As with the other cities, these two are absolutely stunning.

Tons of new 3D buildings in Google Earth

As reported by the Google Earth Blog, Google Earth is now featuring thousands of new 3D buildings.  Some of the updated cities include:
 

Atlanta
Chicago
Jacksonville
Miami Beach
Nashville
Philadelphia
San Diego
St. Petersburg

There are also new buildings in a  variety of European countries.  There are probably others as well, so please let us know in the comments if you find any.

Virtual Earth map control 6.2 coming in a few weeks

According to Nate Irwin, version 6.2 of the Virtual Earth map control is coming on September 22nd.  This new map control brings a lot of great features to the table, including landmark-based directions and real-time weather in 3D.

More new 3D buildings in Google Earth

Google Earth Blog has revealed some extra 3D buildings that were recently added to Google Earth.  Some of the cities with new models are:

San Diego, CA
Chicago, IL
Dallas, TX
Sydney, Australia
Tokyo, Japan
????????
Christchurch, New Zealand

More details about yesterday’s Virtual Earth update

We mentioned it yesterday, but now we have details of the imagery update in Virtual Earth, thanks VE: An Evangelist’s Blog.
I had hoped to see more of their awesome “version 2.0″ 3D cities added, but no new ones were added this time.  Still, it’s a very impressive update!
